CAE
While visiting a good friend in Southern IN. while Turkey hunting he showed me this very clean anvil that was his fathers. My friend is in his early 70's. I'm guessing the stamps on the feet ("C" and "26" or "86" are date it was made 19"26" and maybe the weight 86# and the pattern "C" . Anyone have any ideas. Weight is in the 70# to 80# range, but that's just a guess.
Steve Sells
You have a great anvil there, I love mine. For starters they are from Sweden, so they are not going to reference pounds only Kilograms. The numbers are usually for the model number. check out their web page http://kohlswa.com/ I wish I had a 300# also, these baby's have great rebound. Many Swedish anvils (including Kohlswas) were marked in pounds for export. The majority of Swedish anvils I run across are marked in pounds. Frosty
The ones that were shipped to America are marked in lbs. Swedish cast steel anvils were much in demand and shipped all over the place so I wouldn't be surprised to see one marked in Talents. . . Oh OKAY I WOULD be surprised to see one marked in Talents. Nice anvil and a handy size, great for a portable kit. Frosty The Lucky.
