PeterA
If anyone has any info about this vise I'd appreciate it.
VaughnT
No info on it, but I'd love to have it. Never used a quick-action vise like that, and it would go perfectly with my Fisher anvil!
Judson Yaggy
Josh should speak up soon as he is the world expert on F&N. From the title I was guessing it was anther chain drive double screw vise but it's neat to know that they made all sorts of vises!
maltesehunter
That vise looks similar to a Stephens patent vise.

njanvilman
Just found this post.FISHER made these vises from around 1912 to 1916. They made 5 sizes, both in fixed base and swivel. The S indicates it is a swivel type.Yes, they are just like the Stephens vise, which had been around since the Civil War. Fisher did get a patent on some improvement to the vise. They also made this vise with a rod that went to the floor, and a peddle to lock the vise, freeing up both hands. I have only seen this one in pictures.
