December 6, 201312 yr Hey just thought I'd share my first attempt at forging a horse head. I made this little pipe tamper from 3/8 sq. stock.
December 6, 201312 yr Looks like a horse head to me. Keep on keepin' on and they will keep on improving. Well done.
December 6, 201312 yr Nice job- looks just like a horse head to me, too. You might think about chiseling up a little chip for ears. I like it! Dave
December 6, 201312 yr I like it, as a pipe smoker and collector I would buy it do to the fact that I don't have an animal themed pipe tamper.
December 6, 201312 yr Author I actually did have it up for sale but had a change of heart and am getting my friend to make a pipe for me to go with it!
December 6, 201312 yr Nice tamper and reading the reactions I'm thinking you aught to make a few on spec. Can't lose, if they don't sell you get the practice and they'll make fine gifts, even for non-smokers, they don't need to know it's a pipe tamper to like it. <wink> Frosty The Lucky.
December 8, 201312 yr Nice horse head Looks like a horse head to me. Keep on keepin' on and they will keep on improving. Well done. "Keep on keepin on" - the only place I have heard that is with IFB circles.
December 9, 201312 yr Author Thanks, I am definitely going to make more of these considering my smithy's name is Dead Horse Forge lol. @Nick - I finished it with raw beeswax from my niece's honey farm.
