MLMartin
Nice old colonial vise, composite brazed 9 piece screw box. I just restored one of these a month or so ago
jhicks2013
I wanted to find some info on what type it was the hold down bracket has a few numbers stamped in it
ThomasPowers
The brackes are often not original to the vises.
Frank Turley
I have a similar vise. I think with that shape of box, they are the oldest of the imported English made vises. I've seen several of those old composite vises, and the bracket shape is split and splayed/curved with circular finials, and without markings. Timothy Miller
The mounting bracket on your vise replacement along with the bolt T handle. Here are some photos of a similar vice in my collection the box and screw are a later replacement and the pivot bolt is wrong but the bracket is original. This is the style of mounting bracket it probably would have had.
