October 26, 201312 yr A little gate project I recently completed. 1/2" round bar, 1/8" plate and 1"x 1/4" for the latch. The bird is 16 gauge stainless and silverware. Fun job!
October 27, 201312 yr Author Thanks Mac! Eddie it's a 5'x6' platen table, got it for $300 and I love it but it has a slight crown that is frustrating when fabricating. One of these days I'll get it blanchard ground.
October 27, 201312 yr Greetings Kustom, I am jealous ... I have made several but my customers always seem to have dogs and small pets... I was concerned about entrapment in the scrolls.. Great flow and design.. Now that I live in the country and am retired I can make for my self any thing I want. Just for fun.. Forge on and make beautiful things Jim
October 27, 201312 yr Author Thanks Jim, I was very fortunate to have clients who wanted design over security. I like the gate pic you attached, although I would have made it a foot taller- somebody could climb right over it! :D
October 28, 201312 yr That's a very nice gate, I'll bet the customer is doing a happy dance. The bird is most excellent. Two years ago at the state fair there were a bunch of art pieces made from flatware, by kids from middle school to college. I've been watching at yard/garage sales. Well done, in spades. November 22, 201312 yr Awesome work on that gorgeous gate. Like the scrolls and the bird is totally cool, very creative made of flatware.
