April 5, 201313 yr Had these around for quiet some time. They are 6-8 inches long and about 1 1/2 inches wide. Not sure of the carbon content but I will do some tests on one. Any ideas of what to do with them would be great.
April 5, 201313 yr Bottom swages in all shapes and sizes. Hammers. Or, you could draw them out and make a bunch of 1/4" round and square stock to make hooks from.

April 6, 201313 yr forged artillery shells would make for an entertaining demo for sure :) looks like a pile of almost 100 future hammers waiting to be discovered! some might even have the eye pre-punched too!

April 11, 201313 yr 5star I have a good many of those that I got from my grandpas mechanic shop mine are wrist pins from a cummins diesel and we tested them and they were over 60 Rockwell!!!
