oldanvilyoungsmith
Hey Ya'll, I'm Stephen, a few of you might recognise me from various knifesmithing forums. Recently I've been playing a lot more with regular blacksmithing and not just knives, so I decided to come join up over here. So yeah, enough jawin, howdy ya'll, hope you like it. Made this up last week, forged from mild steel, with offset curl on tail for hanging, and curly maple handle w/ brass pins. You can see the influence of my knife making in the addition of the handle, I positively love curly maple, and thought it would be a good looking addition to this ladles style. Little over 13" long, with nice big extra deep bowl for those extra big servings of chili :D

bigfootnampa
It is as nice as any ladle that I can recall having seen! I very much like the semi-rustic style that it has! I look forward to seeing more of your work!

Larry H
what size did you start with ?
oldanvilyoungsmith
Larry, I cheated. :o I started with some plate steel I had laying around, I'd have to check but I think it was somewhere around 3/32 -1/8" thick, I pre cut to about the size and shape I wanted then forged it out. freeman
The maple accent on the handle is a very unexpected (and thus pleasing) touch. Keep up the good work.
