Matt Smith
Hi, Im working on a themed knife and I was wondering if you can etch designs onto a Damascus blade such as lettering patterns, etc.. I am considering doing an acid etch so any info would be helpful thanks
Steve Sells
Sure give it a try, most would use a stencil and elecrtro etch for the lettering.
Frosty
Give it a try please and take notes. Please post your notes and some pics here, you may have come up with something new or maybe rarely done. We like the learning curve, new is GOOD. Frosty the Lucky. ThomasPowers
Look into reverse etching too---where you apply the resist to the shiny blade and then etch to show the pattern leaving the letters, etc still shiny. (press apply lettering from the art supply works as a resist, when burnished down...)
