underwaterwelder
saw this anvil on craigslist. http://toledo.craigslist.org/tls/2992332293.html I was going to go and look at it. This would be my first anvil. what should I look for? and does it seem like a decent deal? it says it only weighs 85 pounds but to me that sounds off based on the dimensions. anyone have any opinion on that? Thanks

pkrankow
85# is a decent size. That anvil looks very clean, and is a reputable brand. Phil

Rich Hale
You will not likely find another one thta nice for that price. If you would like more information about anvils there is a lot on this site in the anvils forum...
MOblacksmith0530
Great looking anvil and the price is not bad I would say go for it.
DEG
the edges look good and the weight is good for beginning or mature smith's. get it!
ThomasPowers
In Ohio that is fairly high; but the size is really handy for a demo anvil---easily moved and it's in extremely good condition!!!! and it's a good brand. So if you have the money to hand and are anviless that one should still be with you even after you have found a larger "shop anvil". My 93# A&H still gets used a lot for demo's and classes even though my main anvil is now a 515#'r
