saw this anvil on craigslist. http://toledo.craigslist.org/tls/2992332293.html I was going to go and look at it. This would be my first anvil. what should I look for? and does it seem like a decent deal? it says it only weighs 85 pounds but to me that sounds off based on the dimensions. anyone have any opinion on that? Thanks

Only reason i asked is i just bought a "new to me" house. The people I bought it from I think were some of the original farmers from the area. In the basement there were a number of old files that if it were easy I would bring new life to. Sounds like its not really worth it, and will probably try reworking them into something new... (once I build a forge... I am still new at this)

I know files are designed to be run in one direction. Is it true that you will dull the file if you run it in the wrong direction? Or will it just not remove stock efficiently? Is there anyway to sharpen or hone files once they are dull or are they trash?...(or set into the pile of stuff to be reworked...)
