Wood turned out softer than I suspected and although the norm is a 16" handle it ended up feeling shorter than it should be. Balance feels good though. Will replace handle tomorrow and make it 2" longer. Here is the finished hawk with new handle. I made a error on the steel, it's 1050 not EN45 - got mixed up with the blocks I had. Noticed when I did a edge quench that there is a hammon. Feels much more balanced with the added length and not so top heavy. Finished to 400# in some areas, left rough in others. Razor sharp.
