I Forge Iron

another new guy

I first read Alexander Weygers books in my first year university, 1992, and I've wanted to be a black smith ever since.

Unfortunatley you can't always get what you want. My first project was a pennanular broach, made at Lanse aux Meadows, Newfoundland during the 1000 year viking celebration. I used a Crappy tire anvil, a ball peen hammer, a camp fire and two 3 inch nails i burned out of a palette we were using for fire wood. Turned out awesome, then I left it on the tail gate of the truck and never saw it again.

Since then I have dabbled in 'smithing when ever I can. Learned how to make knives from a friend in St. Johns, NF, learned to shoe an ox, and make the shoes from a friend in New Ross, NS, and still read everything I can get my hands on. Its now 2007, and very soon I will have my own land under my feet and trees and iron and a hammer....very soon....very soon....stand by.

Best regards
Paul

Wow, ten years between posts...still lurking.

In Edmonton, Alberta now.

Still dreaming...

Hey, I had a roughly twenty-five year gap between my youthful forging and restarting two summers ago. You're ahead of the curve!

I have it on reliable authority that it's what happens while you're busy making other plans

as we all know Plans are cheap and are easy to make, now follow through can be a lot more difficult and costly to accomplish.  Reality is another entirely different ballgame,
