No good way to drive ground rods into glacial till, I even rented an electric jack hammer. I ended up using the back hoe and only driving the bottom couple feet.
if you rented the powered shovel anyways just get a friend/family member to hold it till you have it held with the bucket then have them back up. then just push/wack it in. if you don't have enough power then add some rocks to the bucket and continue to push it in. We have done up to 4 ft in the ground in about 1.5 min

Except for the cold anvil sucking the heat from the steel, I love forging when snow is falling. Start wearing multiple layers. Finish with barely a t-shirt.
i use a large block of steel in the winter to warm the anvil when temp is below -5C . Below -15 to -20 the forge will not be started same with around 25C+ then i find it gets too hot to work comfortably.
for you crazies out there in order the above temps are 23F, 5 to -4F, and 77F+

74 is barely shorts weather. 70-85 is perfect weather for forging. Warm enough to be comfortable in jeans and a t-shirt but cool enough that you don’t sweat to death even next to the forge. It doesn’t get miserable until it gets over 90.On the other hand, anything under 50 means hovering over the forge in a hoodie. When it gets below 40, I may have to break out the Carhart LOL.
its not just alaskans
29C for forging Bantou your crazy? ok i guess that comes with the title Texan 50(10C) is long-sleeve and t-shirt temp 40(4C) is before mentioned plus a fleece sweater at -5C(23F) or prolonged time below 0C(32F) high wind at +5C-then the canvas coat covers a T and long-sleeves
M.J.Lampert
P.S.
shorts are not for forging or forging temps a 30-35C(86- 95F) minimum is required

I can't speak for others but for me there are a few unforgivable things: pedophilia, serial rape and murder are up there but I don't say never. Even the worst might be forgivable, fortunately I haven't had to deal personally with what I think of true evil. I don't think.
frosty i can see what you mean and if i came up against those kinds of people after they had hurt my family I would have a hard time forgiving them but i know that in Gods eyes i was just evil and he was willing to forgive me so i should be willing to forgive them though personally I think I would be more like Corrie ten Boom in this story Corrie ten Boom meets captor after released at least that's the minimum of what I feel ok I think I've said more than my 2cents worth so I'll leave it there for now

M.J.: I'll pay for the kit and give you the $2k for a phone with a barrel: a .22Win mag auto load derringer, a 5 shot magazine is plenty, would suit me right down to the ground.
Frosty The Lucky.
sorry didn't mean that kind of barrel i didnt know the right term for it then, i meant rotor
heres an idea though https://www.bing.com/videos/search?q=lifecard]&docid=608036656169026825&mid=8EAE12882DCCB39BFA378EAE12882DCCB39BFA37&view=detail&FORM=VIRE
or if you really want the phone gun https://www.gunsamerica.com/digest/cell-phone-pistol/#:~:text=The Cell Phone Pistol (IC380) from Ideal Conceal, traditional EDC handgun would be impractical or inadvisable.
sorry on the disappointment

that sounds similar to grader teeth I've dealt with they had a 3/4" carbide on a mild body and a small piece of sheet as a spring to hold in place if same bantou i would leave them where they are
yes my father and i got the roofing up last night so by next weekend it should be done
the boxes are 13" squarish (no 90s in corners)
frosty even p nut knew better the material i talked about was dead leaves, sticks ect the clay came from a freind so the dog didn't do it (one of their three maybe?) no the stuff i got was clean of that material
