  2. they were used by telephone linemen for some purpose . I have 2 of them and they are stamped BELL SYSTEMS. doug
  3. its a tomahawk chipping hammer for welding .
  4. Hi Dave , Railings and gates is a large majority of our shops work and we use a spray made by walthers that we buy by the gallon and put it in spray bottles .a fine mist around all the weld joints makes the cleanup of the little tiny spatter almost effortless they basically fall off . doug

  8. it is for my guillotine tool which the fuller bar is just 1018 and am trying to slow the strike point down from mushrooming . thanks doug

  11. Those vice grips can also be used for round tube or pipe when joining with a butt joint .we use them a lot like that in our fab shop . doug

  16. hi glenn thanks for the reply .we have had this anvil and some others since 1960 and would just like to have a good large flat surface .we have 2 other smaller hay buddens in the shop too .we do mainly decorative iron in our business . doug
  17. hi guys we have a 288lb hay budden in the shop that has about a .100 sway in a 3 in long area of the top surface . The anvil came from a horse and carriage building shop from the early 1900's in N.J. what are some thoughts on having it Blanchard ground to be true .We work with them and not a collector . thanks doug
