    k will do thanx will it work if i crush up a fire brick and add some lime and concrete and add water and molt to shape of crucible.could that work as one?

    yes i agree but the only thing about buying a crucible is there arent any pottery or casting shops anywhere close and i dont have any money at all due me not having a job

    no no no you dont understand i wanna melt things like coke tins,gun shells,brass fittings etc.stuff like that 4 MY OWN USE not to sell or give away.i just thought that it could also be fun to do.i know its dangerous but so is walking across a road

    thanx but mine has to be practical to make and it must have a small gas cylander,i dont know what fitting i need for it to prevent flash backs and those things where the flame sucks up the gas pipes and into the bottle.im hoping i can built it from a camping gas bottle(that very small bottle that powers some camping lights and also is used for heating cofee water.id post a pic but i dont know how.

    wasnt the question about plans to build a furnice that uses wood?i wanna actualy do the same and i see that no body posted info on how to make the actual furnace :(

    yes in know but youve gotta start somewhere.i dont only wanna do blacksmithing i also wanna do metal melting and casting stuff.with long xxxxx tongs

    im not really a newbie ive done blacksmithing when i was small but now im getting into the knife and sword making,aspecialy Damascus knives

    id say the entrance to the forge mite be too open put the two bricks holding up the other one on there sides, it should allow it to keep more heat inside.just my input

    cool because i thought to myself ive finaly made a working forge but i cant get fuel anywhere but from trees

    is it possible to forge weld using wood as a fuel instead of coal?

    how can sand melt in a forge?i thought it must be much hotter.is sand as in beach sand or what?

    oh ok i see now.but my bigest problem is flux.im in new zealand and there isnt anything in the laundry area called 20 mule team borax

    well if u go to youtube and type in cable forgeing you will see the way the guy diped the cable into the molten cable

    doesnt using sand as a flux go into the metal and make tiny holes in it?sort of like wen u hit a punch into a piece of metal to mark out where u ganna drill?
