  1. Are these people still in business? I have not been able to contact them (by phone and email) for the past couple of weeks to discuss shipping rates. Their website looks pretty good, and I have heard positive review about their products. Any input would be greatly appreciated.
  2. I too have a drake drum off of a semi truck, but I'm not quite sure how to rig up this huge thing. I doubt it's worth the trouble to make a forge out of it.
  3. I make a lot of simple things like fire pokers, trap stakes, and crude tongs. It seems to be good practice and is surprisingly fun. Especially if I get my materials for free.
  4. Yep, the same thing hit me.
  5. Disappearing post bug might be getting me on this one?
  6. Very nice find, Since I'm a beginner I'm working on a piece of 70lb railroad track. Not much for anvils in my area.
  7. I agree with this guy! Personally I like Swiss made Grobets over the new Mexican made Nicholsons they seem hold their edge better at the same cost. But older American made Nicholsons are supposed to be top-notch.
  8. Very nice work, I may have to try casting with brass someday.
  9. I recently discovered that Federal regulations require that brake pedal levers be made of hardened steel. So does anybody out there forge these, or have any thoughts on their potential uses?
