  1. WOW, 3 hours, That's a lot done. Im envious, you have a break that will do 1/4 inch..Looks great. Firepot looks a little deep from here but hey you fab another in 5 minutes :-)
  2. Go on youtube and search for "How to Forge Leaf Keychain by Brian Brazeal". He shows and talks about technique. I watched that vid a bunch of times then made two leaves then expanded on that idea. This is the third project for me . A three legged votiv candle holder
  3. Happy fathers day. Here's what my boy got me. Going to work nice for storing tongs and stuff :-)
  4. Found this cool ladle at a garage sale today. Looks to be a coated copper pot with a cast brass handle. Question, how do I bend the handle for a better working angle. Hot? cold? I don't want to break it. Maybe it will just hang on the wall cuz its so cool! :-)
  5. This came from Togo (pronounced "tow go")Minnesota after my granddad past. Its been cut with a torch and handle has been shortened. It was a 10 pounder but the first part of the makers name is gone. Whats left reads "kwerk". It know I have seen this name before because I remember the "werk" part. Anyone know the whole name?
  6. Describe your heat treat process on that fine looking tool.

Awesome vice! Wouldn't it be nice to have 2 forklift tines. The pivot could be right at the bottom (near the floor) and you could get more gripping power and the top would have that nice bend on each half and that thing would be strong! I found some on craigslist Minnesota but he wants $200 for a pair :-(
  8. Here's how to weigh it. Put a piece of 12 inch angle iron on bathroom scale point up. Now measure 4 feet from that and place another piece. Take a board that will support anvil and lay it across angle iron to make a bridge. Note the scale weight. Place a mark on board half way between angles. Now center anvil on mark and read scale. Double what the scale reads and you have the weight of the anvil minus the weight of the board.
  9. Here's my clothes dryer forge. Its now installed in my garage with a good working stack but I'm not able to post a pic of it.
  10. Help ID this. Its 252lbs. 32 inches long 12 high and 5 wide. It has a deep stamped 3,8,or s on waist. The bottom is interesting to me. It looks like a form that's 1/4 inch thick then filled almost full. Why does the bottom look like that. Also the texture around the feet looks weird for being cast. Has "warranted" stamped on it. Might be more writing above that but I don't know. Its not in my possession so next time I see it I will try flour or paper and pencil trick. Whats this worth?
