  1. I was wondering where this was going.
  2. Thanks, I realize that. Just wanted to ask. Bill
  3. I am replacing the wood foundation on my Say Mak SM 50 with one made of steel. Does anyone have the dimensions of the locations for the mounting holes? I just want to be sure as I only want to set the machine once. Thanks, Bill
  4. I have heat treated Damascus with silver wire inlay and etched in ferric chloride without any problems.
  5. Nice job! What steel used?
  6. Ellis Custom Knife Works sells it but it's on backorder now. http://elliscustomknifeworks.hightemptools.com/quenchants.html

I purchased it from McMaster Carr and cost a little over $30.00. The air cleaner has a silencer and the description in their catalog stated that the air flow would be improved. I must say that the hammer does seem a little more responsive and the exhaust note is very healthy (more than before the change). I don
  17. Nice job! - what's next?
  18. Great control on your twists. Eyecatching!
  19. Should distilled water be used (in the brine mix)?
  20. The W2 was from flat stock that I traded for. I do also hammer it down from round stock. The flat stock is available, you'll just have to look for it. The Ivory was furnished by the customer. The name "Bird and Trout" is basically the size and purpose ot the knife. It's intended for use on upland birds and trout. Thanks for the compliments.
  21. Thanks for the nice compliments.
  22. Here are four bird & trouts that I recently finished. The Damascus is W2, 1065 & 15N20, 124 layers in a Ladder pattern. The guards are 416 stainless steel, the pins are mosiac and the scales are Walrus Ivory. They were delivered as a set.
