  2. Hi forged from one inch coil 5160 i had a nice looking piece of osage orange so i put it on to see how it looks even tho the grains running the wrong way , will change when i get another piece Chris .

  6. Hi Flying XS Why not try some Copper and steel first, preety simple mate and you can pattern same as patern weld steel no probs . tsuba for japanese style sword .Im in melb to give us a bell if you need help Chris

The couple of Frankish axes the found in Irland had wedges holding the haft on just like a normal hammer or axe no handle left just what was in the eye so could have been tapered same as Storm crows haft . that being said they had curved hafts to increase throwing power like this one i finnished . used osage orange for haft all i had at the time grain is runing wrong way so i will have to change .later on .   10. Standard hammer in Leather craft, leather workers use them all the time in stampimg and carving . but not that heavy ones in the pix Chris.

  17. Hi mitch4ging Sorry mate been flat out like a lizard drinking , but heres the pic all it is is a simplest pair of tongs with blocks of steel heat blockes in the coke and use ,good for doing knives when not using clay to softens the spines nicely Chris ,
  18. Found time to harden and temper and finish up ecxept for haft thanks Chris .

  20. Hi Benton probably most of what you said mate ,I have a lot of interests axes are one at moment , you have to have a interest or you woudnt get out of bed in the morning and it keeps me of the streets LOL Did this pic i said i would do hope this helps a bit . Chris
