  3. Hi Halbrust a lot of great answers here but one i cant find the size of the ball pien you are hammering . face size one inch ,inch and a quarter , inch and half , inch three quarters , Size does make a big differents Chris

  5. Hi ianinsa yes just the cleaning up grinding both on same machine the dust gets to gether and trouble think about that but then even flower mill have gone up too from dust , So care that all i meant i welded ally for years most of the phone station boxes over here Chris

  7. The buitiful blue found on early Colts were done in charcoal from memory . Lot of spur makers use fire blueing .to colour . These fittings i did in caustic and nitric around 270 f the salts boil a lot higher than water dangerous stuff one splatter you have a real bad burn .wouldnt use in the smithy my self . Most firearms were done with the caustic method not doubles tho you end up with 2 in the tank eats all the solder out . Chris

  9. Hi jm did one similar a while ago i drilled one small hole and shaped a piece of steel same as head i was going to use kept heating the blank in forge and burned through the wood Chris

  21. Made from Farriers file wrap and weld ,Head and tail forged from mildsteel , brass brushed . spotted gum haft , bit of chisel work ,some inlay of brass and some over lay back grounding in 24 ct gold. Thanks for your time Chris
