  1. Dydidium is a good place to start your searching. My Forge pair of glasses are ROSE ONE filtered, there are about 8 different variations of the dydidium available now. I talked to my eye Dr during an exam, and he asked what temps I am dealing with, and sugggested the rose 1 filter, over the basic Dydidium. Hope this helps.

  2. Due to a "busy night" in the ICU it was 2 more hours before they were able to attend my Father, when Life support was removed, he passed quickly. Lloyd Sells now rests peacefully. after a weekend fulled with tears, and some rage, I am now numb. I love you Dad. and I will miss you.

  3. You posted as a "teen", so we can understand your wishing to avoid problems on the net, and keep your privacy. So I will elaborate the request just made, adding a City/State or just a region i.e. "North Eastern Indiana", is not a security risk, but it will assit you in finding help/supplies near by, as some things wil be easier to find in some area than others

  4. We have removed the life support from my father one hour ago, as per the wishes in his living will, may he finaly rest in peace. I hope he doesnt linger, I am staying here at the ICU until his final passing.

  5. When my daughter was younger she was "hurt" (after my divorce from her mother). When I found one of the responsible, I quickly had him on the business end of my gun and was ready to pull the trigger, but realized that if I do, then she would lose me, after I lowered the weapon a few police officers walked up and cuffed him, I didnt see them across the street in my blind rage. They told me they were not gonna interfere but would rather prosecute him them me for revenge. I am glad I made the correct choice.

I do not know what you and Sue are going through, I doubt that any one else really can know for sure, but I have a good idea of the pain and disgust you feel, and I am here for you Dale.

  6. left work early to drive the 90+ miles to the ICU again, Dad's worse. He slept through his 79 B day yesterday ( was of off a year thought he was turning 80) when he is awake, his lung fights the respirator, so he is sedated, and his kidney's are getting worse, so I need to be with my family now.

  7. not that too many of you think about it, "what is there to running a length of wire huh?" but maybe there is a reason we have 5 year apprenticeships, plus 4 more working as a journeyman, before I was allow to take the masters test as an electrician. there IS more to wiring than just a pair of wires. Funny how very few try DIY root canals...

    Please be safe.

  8. update: My Dad is on 25% respiratory support 75% of his breathing is by his own lung (yes, he has only one) The culture from the fluids they removed from his lung show he has a resistant strain of MRSA, a form that is highly infectious, but he is conscious and communicate now. I plan to go to see him later today.

  9. Last summer I had a mini hammer in at my place while Fate pete and Trying-it were at my place, before we all left for JeremyK's place. while here we played around with some dredging cable Pete had, and here are the 2 blades I made for a client with them, the bowie has a saw blade spine, and the ww2 fighter has a false edge, ie non sharpened spine. Etched with Ferric Chloride.

Handles will be of para-cord braid by the client, and sheaths are Kydex made by a 3rd party.

  10. After an Angioplasty Thursday my dad developed complications, speech slurred, and hard to form cohesive sentences. went back to Hospital after his temp reached 103F. I was called in from work Monday morning, he was not expected to last much longer, was very gray and not able to breath, pulse at 152 with very low BP, before losing consciousness he begged the doctors to let it end, he said doesn't want to live this way... (he does have a living will) he is now on a respirator and stable. He was stabilized with in the 2 hours it took me to drive to the hospital His temp is still 103F.

I am holding up much better than the rest of the family, and I have managed to remain clean.

  11. I find it funny, reading a statement of: Lets all join together and send in this petition to state our rights to NOT want to join together. LOL sorry but its a bit contradictory isn't it?

In fact, most unions are the very people that make up its membership We as members make the choices to work or not to work, I like working and making money, I would rather take a pay cut than a lay off. also we DO remove people that wont pull their own weight. Also we have a "fire at will" policy, and if a member is removed for cause 2x in a year, there is a hearing with the union officers, 3x and most members are gone for being dead weight.

Remember there was NO safety laws before unions. remember the company towns and company scripts for payment ? a worker being told to do this job, if its safe or not, and when they get hurt and lose am arm so they cant work, as a direct result of the dangerous equipment, are thrown out like the trash?

  12. Actually, Al nuggets are added to a steel melt to float off the dross... just as limestone is used in cast iron. I have forged Al, some alloy's are fine, also some alloys do get HT for aerospace things... as for rolls of foils, Is this guy serious or just trolling???

  13. for anyone in the U.S the triangle T corp. uses 02 steel for the blades on it equipment, i got some from a freind that used to work with a wood chipper with blades made by them and he gave me the old blades, i havent gotten a chance to make anything from them yet because not long after i broke my right wrist but as soon as i can ill let yall know how the steel forges

if not let me know..... I would be interested
  14. the addition of Mn isn't exactly deep hardening, more like medium hardening. The 0.4% of Chrome will make it deep hardening, lousy for getting a Hamon, but great for a larger blade that will take a Beating and stay in shape! I would get some 1074 + .4 Chrome and use it. Also I wish I could get O2 as it makes for very dark layers in pattern welded billets, I heard it called O1 without the nasty stuff.
