yesteryearforge
Just returned from Quadstate What a blast as allways Really GREAT to see old friends and make new ones and especially to see that so many from The Blacksmith Guild of Virginia could make it. Now to start preparing for next year. Mike TannerBlacksmith Guild of Viriginia - HomeYesteryear School of Blacksmithing
781
I just got back to Minnesota from there also Had a geat time dispite the rain bought a few things and sold quite a few DVD for the UMBA library. Watched Ryan Johnson demo. Would rate him in the top 10 demonstrators I have watched since 1988. Did several tomahawks, poured pewter furniture on hawk handle and gave much more interesting info. Great demo I watched them weld a new top plate on an anvil friday night It took 4 tries but they got the job done. They did not have enought heat the first 3 times I believe. They made a nice set of tools to take the anvil out of the fire and tools to move it around in the fire Postman gave a talk about how original anvils were made. Plenty of tools in the tailgate area. Some cheap some not. It appeared to be the year of the large vise
