Surveying the sunset

Featured Replies

My senior party chief retires Thursday after 42 years with the company so I made him a little surveyor.

He is one of the best field surveyors I have ever had the pleasure to work with and will be sorely missed, irreplaceable really.

Very nice! I particularly like the way you used common objects but managed to give the surveyor a very human form. I'm sure it will bring a smile & be treasured.

Nice work Rojo. The copper notebook is a great touch. I'm sure he will love it.

That is a thoughtful and unique retirement gift.  Well done.  I really like the name/title you gave it too.

Outstanding in the imagination department. I bet he will cherish it and recall a lot of memories every time he sees it.

I can't control the wind, all I can do is adjust my sail’s.

I love the sculpture Pedro, how soon is the date? If you have some time I'd like to suggest you change the notebook to brass to better represent a "Rite in the Rain" field log book. He'll recognize it instantly. I also thought of an arm signal to the man holding the story pole but focusing or adjusting the transit fits the image nicely.

Regardless he'll love it, you done good.

Frosty The Lucky.

Well done!
Your friend & coworker will cherish how you remember him in your mind’s eye.
Also that you used your time to create a gift instead of going to Walmart or Amazon.

Kudos to you!!

Thanks everyone. It was a real hit and I could tell he was touched by it.

That made it all the more fun to make.
