Mikey98118 Posted June 30, 2023 Share Posted June 30, 2023 BTW, it is quite common for the super-heated steam, which is generated while the refractory is heat curing, to snuff burner flames. If you drilled a weep hole in the bottom of your forge shell, it would spit and drip water until the cure is nearly done; that would give you a visual cue of just how much steam is being generated, for a while.
