Benona blacksmith
I am working on getting the fuller dies for it. Weldimg round bar to the dies isnt going to work in this case. $250 for a set of dies and they are H13 that needs a good pre heat before welding. This is the spring fuller I made for it. I now have a saddle welded on it so I dont have to hold it while working.
Jasent
I sure like h13 for hot work! I would think it could take a decent weld as it fades to black heat from dark cherry. That’s the type of spring die I was taking about. What do you not like about it
Benona blacksmith
It's just not as accurate as I would like. It gets the job done though. I wish my top die didnt retract into the stuffing box which would make bolt on dies easier to make. I am getting fullering dies for the hammer but I have to order them directly from the factory in China because the dealer only offers drawing dies for it. Justin Topp
Got out and forged another one. I really need a a big guillotine tool haha. 4140. 2.25 lbs. far from pretty but I’m more concerned with function for the time being. Just needs a handle and it’s good to go. I made it in the style I like. Small faces with a long hammer. 5” long 1.5” faces
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
The main thing with any hammer is if you like it and use it.
