Rashelle Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 (edited) The following is made by a youth student of mine, as forged of 1080. I am proud of her. Oh yeah this was her second day bladesmithing. Edited July 24, 2019 by Rashelle forgot stuff Quote
Lou L Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Very cool. I’d love to see the outcome of her grinding and finishing. That’s the real grueling work of bladesmithing. Quote
Rashelle Posted July 24, 2019 Author Posted July 24, 2019 LOl yup. Though her grind on the initial butter knife she made was pretty good, same as for the grinding practice neck knife. Quote
Frosty Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Nice profile and a useful size. Please relay a hearty Frosty ATTAGIRL! for me please Rashelle. Frosty The Lucky. Quote
CrazyGoatLady Posted July 24, 2019 Posted July 24, 2019 Very nice! Great to see other women forging metal. I'm not a bladesmith. Maybe one day. Quote
Rashelle Posted July 25, 2019 Author Posted July 25, 2019 Here it is after grinding and wire brushed. It was made intended to be an integral handle so handle was purposely left wide with rounded edges. She went ahead and drilled a hole on the end just in case she later wants to wrap the handle. Quote
Stormcrow Posted July 25, 2019 Posted July 25, 2019 She did better than I did on my first knife! Quote
Rashelle Posted July 26, 2019 Author Posted July 26, 2019 Yeah, I think her forging may of been cleaner then mine on my first one. Quote
billyO Posted August 6, 2019 Posted August 6, 2019 Looks good Rashelle! How's the summer? Hope all the instructors are working out this year. (I'm hoping to move to Newberg soon....fingers crossed) You planning on being at Swaptoberfest? Quote
