December 30, 20187 yr A guy 2 hours away offered to sell me this anvil. He doesn't know much about them. Can anyone tell if this is a good anvil or what brand it could be. TIA
December 30, 20187 yr Just from the shape I'd guess that it's a Fisher. I'm not an expert, however. Do you have any other photos of it?
December 30, 20187 yr A good anvil is one with good rebound and one in usable shape. It looks in usable shape but I can't do a rebound test from here. that's up to you.
December 30, 20187 yr Author I took a gamble on this one and drove straight there. Its a 90 pound fisher. The face and horn are in awesome shape. It does have one corner of the bottom "foot" broken off, but I dont think it will cause any problems.
January 1, 20197 yr It won't cause any problems. I have a PW missing a foot---must remember to make it a peg leg for talk like a pirate day! ARRRRRGH!
January 1, 20197 yr Author Even with missing part of a foot i was really happy with this one. Anvils in my area are starting to go for $4 or more per pound. I got this one for $2 per pound.
