September 6, 20187 yr Does anyone have recommendations?. I’m planning a flat roof above my shop ( which is yet to be built. ). I’m concerned about sparks from the chimney settling on the flat roof and causing a fire. What roof covering would members recommend in such circumstances?
September 6, 20187 yr I have a steel roof on both my shop and my house. We get wildfires out here and a steel roof cuts your house fire insurance costs. Of course you may have more noise issues with rain on a steel roof than we do.
September 6, 20187 yr Make an all metal building. And Thomas hit the nail on the head it gets loud when it rains but I like the sound. Another thing is cell reception goes out the window
September 6, 20187 yr Flat roof still needs to have a good slope in order to drain water. First look at the fire and why it is causing sparks. Control the sparks, build a smoke shelf, and then look into a spark arrester for the chimney.
