bebeaux
I saw an auction advertised today for Murray's Iron Works . There should be some good stuff in there if you can make it, it's on March 13. What a shame that a shop of that magnitude is closing down. I wonder if Edgar Brandt could have survived today's market conditions.

ThomasPowers
will the auction be at this location: "In 2001, the workshop, now housed in 19 buildings in Culver City on Blackwelder Street, moved to South Central Los Angeles and a newly renovated single 210,000 square foot facility."? Information needed in case folks wanted to try to attend it...
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Looks like just a flyer now, no catalog yet of individual items. http://unitedassetsales.com/murray/ And here is the company website showing capabilities. http://www.murraysiw.com/ With today's market , and also having internet bidding I would not expect any deals, but you never know with an auction. ThomasPowers
I was wondering about how many of it's employees might try making a go of it on their own...
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
From the flyer. LOCATION: 7355 EAST SLAUSON AVENUE, COMMERCE, CA
VaughnT
Wonder if it's just their California operations that are closing. They have a location in Texas that might be doing well enough, but can't use all the tools and materials from the CA facilities. Still, it'd be neat to see what comes up on auction. I can't afford anything, but I don't mind some eye candy!
ThomasPowers
I hope they are not just offshoring their production!
otisdog
No, they shut down. 25 & 100 pound little giants sold. along with another power hammer. A nice Hay Budden which looked about 450 pounds went for $2k plus premium. I bought a bucket of hand made chains..
