GrumpyBiker
I came across this saw blade Vise for $16. Couldn't pass it up. I figured if nothing else I could use it to sharpen my machetes & longer knives. Anyone have one of these & is there a practical use for it in conjunction with blacksmithing? Daswulf
I have one. So far it is still hanging out on a shelf. Not to say I won't find a good use for it eventually. Maybe even sharpening saw blades lol.
GrumpyBiker
I just couldn't leave it there. but I have a bunch of old tools I just could see languishing in a junk-tique store. like the hand powered drill pressing found! Mark Ling
My dad got me one of those for my birthday, really cool things! as for uses, I could see if you do alot of sheet metal work that it could possibly come in handy, I am constantly finding hand says and restoring/sharpening them and same with cross cut saws, so im planning on using it for its intended purpose... GrumpyBiker
I just couldn't pass something like this up for $16 . I mean if nothing else I could give it away as an x-mas present !
Irondragon Forge ClayWorks
I use mine as a stitching pony making leather holsters and knife sheaths too.
GrumpyBiker
I'd not considered that. Good thinking!
Stash
I have had one for a while, it is great for (wait for it..........) sharpening saws. Not beefy enough for hammering, but some other good ideas were already mentioned. I never thought any farther than it's original intended purpose, but now that I dwell on it a bit (hmmmm, head scratch) I could see it as a mini- brake kinda thing for small sheet projects. Might need to shift it from the wood shop to the metal shop and see how things play out. Steve
Matthew D
It doesn't look very useful to me. Why don't you just send it to me so you don't have to worry about what you'll do with it.
