Alex1297
Hey guys I got this anvil for free a while back and I did some research. I found out that it is indeed a William foster (or at least that is what I am led to believe) but I can't seem to find much info on this one as the markings on it are scarce. Im not much of an anvil collector at this point in my life (I'm a youngin [21])as much as I'd love to be as I am building up my shop so I'd like to know a rough price on one of these as well. I got offered $4000.00 CAD for it, fair price? It appears as though the heel is broken off but on further inspection it seems to appear as though it was made without the Pritchel hole part of the heel. The side face of the heel is quite smooth and has no sign of cutting or breakage. can add pictures upon request.
ThomasPowers
$10 (Canadian) a pound? I'd help load it for them and then go buy several other anvils with the cash!

ThomasPowers
Comes down to do you want an anvil for looking at or an anvil for using? As this is a smithing site I hope most of us are in the using camp!
