September 6, 20169 yr So I scored a 7 inch post vice the other day. Unsure of its identification. Not too knowledgable on vices. The only thing stamped I could find was a 50 with a line under it. After I got the 100 years of rust broke loose it worked just fine lol. I'll get a picture of the stamp when I get home. I thought I had one.
September 6, 20169 yr Many were never marked by the manufacturer other than say the weight as that is how they were sold. The mount looks similar to an Iron City vise I have. Some Iron City vises will have a small 6 pointed star with the name inside.
September 13, 20169 yr Yup. Very few were marked. Sorry By the way great vise and a most uncommon size.
September 17, 20169 yr Author It's pretty rough on the outside. There is still cross hatches in the jaws though, itle make me a good vice if I ever get to build a stand for it.
September 17, 20169 yr I agree with Bigundoctor about maybe being an IRON CITY (meaning Pittsburgh). The star stamp is normally on the right hand side of the movable leg, as you're facing the front of the vise.
