clenceo
I recently acquired this anvil. Weighs 105lbs. It was at a good price, looked clean and undamaged. It was coated in thick paint that I stripped off. The only marking is the #10 under the horn. Closest I can think is a Vulcan. But, no Vulcan logo. Rebound is great...dropped a ball bearing from about 10 in, bearing nearly landed back into my palm.
matto
You will soon here a lot of people telling you to not use it and stay with the forklift anvil. My thought is use it but always hit hot metal on it. It is cast and the face will be alittle softer. Yes it looks like a Vulcan or a badger. With out knowing where it was found harder to get a make on it. But other than not knowing names matter little. Have fun with her and hit her a lot with hot metal and a hammer!! Cynthia is a good name!
ThomasPowers
I certainly won't be telling him that---the rebound test trumps all names/looks/etc when you are evaluating a *using* anvil!
BIGGUNDOCTOR
Get it mounted and start using it. If it works, who cares who made it?
matei campan
If that anvil has already seen use, that could tell us that's a good anvil as it's in perfect shape as I could see it in the pics.
