Frosty
It's all diffusion welding be it damascus, mokume gane or one of the many variants. Jim Binnion was making titanium gold Mokume years ago, his gold, iron tea pot is spectacular. Beautiful sword. I wonder if the Chinese will ever allow an xray spectral analyses to determine what's in the alloy to keep it untarnished. A pinch of chrome maybe? Heck they could've electro plated it with chrome and it'd be shiny for millennia. The time period is well within the time electro plating was being done. Frosty The Lucky. Dom
Incredible that such an old blade could be recovered in such pristine condition.

I think because the sword of Goujian was made during the bronze age that's one of the attributing factors to why its still been preserved until this day The sword of Ulfbert was rusted to bits when they recovered it!
