tallgrass1
Hello, i am new. Have been watching you tube on pouring aluminum down into ant hills to form some prettyneat art. I read the largest weighed 52 lbs. Just looking for comments from the forum.
Glenn
52 pounds of hot aluminum would be a real challenge to melt and pour in the field. Although we enjoy the construction and complexity of the ants next, the ants do not see it as art when people fill their home with HOT molten aluminum. ianinsa
Glenn, it may not be nearly as effective using COLD aluminum! albeit more humane.
Smoggy
There seems to be a lot of those vids turning up on youtube lately, presumably it's the latest craze........I can't help but wonder how long before someone finds an ants nest with a decent amount of dampness at the bottom, the fun will start! Frosty
I've been expecting a steam "event" but haven't seen one yet, I just hope they're shooting video when it happens. Frosty The Lucky.

Frosty The Lucky. Hope they call for an underground utility stake out or a steam event might not be their biggest concern. I can't imagine HDPE gas line would react very well to molten metal.
