Candidquality
This might get a few more responses from the bladesmith forum. We do have a great group of guys(and gals) here. Just know that when you ask a question to 5 people here you will get 7 answers. Lots of great information and there is almost always more than one good way to get the results you are wanting. I would personally make a positive stop to keep what i'm using to make the edge from possibly traveling past the part I want to be sharp, then it has no choice but to be where you put it. Good luck, James
Thomas Dean
Something that may help you locating a fellow bladesmith is to give a closer area of where you live. something like I'm 25miles southeast of XXX on highway ZZ. You may be pleasantly surprized at the results. Me, I'm in East Texas just east of Longview, TX. You are welcome to come 'bug' me but I don't do blades...yet... Good luck and welcome to IFI. Glenn
Vern Where do you live? Go to User CP at the top of the forum page Go to user profile left column Go to location at the bottom of that page Save. Oh yes, all caps is difficult to read. (and considered yelling on the internet).
oakwoodforge
Vern, you are 25 min away from my shop, ( I'm just south of Fairfield ) shoot me a pm, possibly I can help get you pointed in the right direction. I teach a few small classes from time to time. Jens
