    what temp do you take your forge for 1084 to forge with a hand hammer,not color but temp. vern Ps:i have a gas forge.

    jens i dont have to far to go if i can remember the dates. My name is vern six of Ottumwa . i make knives and try to forge but know nothing about forging. i use 1095 and 1084 steel. (1) IS THIS FOR SOMEONE LIKE ME? ( WHAT DOES IT COST?     well thanks to all you fine folks for the word to (GOD) , it worked after the took out a monster blood clot and sowed it up . he's back home already. thank you all . Prayers work , he's proof, almost dead and now great. vern

    how many coats of Satanite Refractory Mortar did you put on your wool. vern forge not gorge

    The belts change in about 30 sec. buy the brite handle on the left. just pull on it and it slides and then chANGE BELT OFF AND ON. the only thing lansky is the little clamp witch rides on a bent rod about 2" high . pull the clamp up to the top and sharpen. then take and use the leather belt to make the grind shine.I have a hand made clamp for bigger knives.(6"a up to 10")
