December 16, 201411 yr I like them. What diameter wheel did you use for the hollow back on the single bevel knife?
December 16, 201411 yr Author I like them. What diameter wheel did you use for the hollow back on the single bevel knife? just 9" that's what i have right now... planing on getting a curved platen with 3'-4' diameter
December 16, 201411 yr just 9" that's what i have right now... planing on getting a curved platen with 3'-4' diameter It looks functional even at 9". I tired a yanagi-ba a while ago, and wish I had just used a wheel like you did rather than attempt to get the 48" radius grind. My end result was neither as pretty or as functional as yours looks to be.

December 26, 201411 yr Beautiful work! Fwiw, I just purchased a set of wood rasps from Traditional Woodworker to use on the wa handles. Haven't tried them yet, but hopefully they will make life easier. John www.gearhartironwerks.com

December 29, 201411 yr It looks like a hedgerow reflecting in the mirror finish, or is it left scaled from the fire, and not polished at all?
