I Forge Iron

Brought home my first anvil

212 lb Peter Wright. I felt that with this type of thing the time to buy is when you find it. There's a bit of chipped edges and most edges are rounded. The horn is worn unevenly but the rebound seems very good and there's no huge gouges in the face. I paid $500. Was it a fair price for the condition?

Good Morning,

Good Condition as it is, not perfect, but good. Use it as it is and enjoy the journey of making other tools to fit it.

The baby starts with little steps, Your new baby weighs 212 lbs (Poor Mother!!)

Have you named her yet??

Neil

Thanks for all the support. I'm still not quite where I want to be with my other project before I can get heavy with blacksmithing yet. Just getting tooled up and educated right now. I'm far from rich but I'm in the position where I have less time than money.
