We've gotta know. <_< I think the steel is the same as ball bearing steel, i made it from a bigger ball that is used in oil pumps,the handle is made out of stacked brass,wood and thick pieces of leather.If somebody knows the type of steel used in these balls i would be greatfull to know myself.And by the way I am new to this forum made my account 3 days ago. If you have any more questions I will be happy to answer.
July 29, 201312 yr Usually gonna be 52100 or some similar alloy unless they are carborized. The carborized or case hardened kind will have chips knocked out when worn. Those aren't any good for knives. There are other alloys used, just the two more common.
