Black Frog
I have a heavy duty roller cart with a 1" steel plate on it that I'd like to mount my forge on. Probably fabricate a pedastal on the side of the cart to raise the forge and keep the table top available and open. I'd like to 'hardwire' my gas forge from the idler valve that will be mounted on the side of the cart up to the forge itself. From the idler vavle to the tank will be the flexible tubing. That will allow me to move the cart in/out a few feet without disconnecting from my 100# tank. Black pipe or copper tubing for propane? Dale M.
Copper tubing allows for lots of angle changes and mismeasurements... Black Iron pipe is rigid and does not allow as much 'Flexibility" as to how you route plumbing... Dale
Frosty
Either is safe and will work just fie. The black pipe has no give so you have to get it right or it won't connect. Frosty The Lucky
Black Frog
Is there a certain type of copper tubing used for propane? Like Type L or K?
Steve Sells
L and K types are wall thickness. your PSI wont be enough to worry which you choose to use.
Black Frog
Or how about the braided stainless flex propane hoses?
Dale M.
L or K refers to rigid copper pipe for water or waste drain lines (I believe) .... You want soft copper tubing that comes in a coil and use flair fittings.... Dale
