DKForge
Or should I say...vises scored today. Two 6", one 5 3/4", one 4 1/2" and the nice Anvil/Vise with original cut off hardy.

DKForge
Thanks, the jaws have the original scoring and it has a fine threaded screw. Patent of 1914 clearly on the side.
clinton
Nice score and amazing that 3 of the 4 leg vises still have mounting brackets. I usually find 3 out of 4 missing the parts
Suboc
Good going. I like the one on the far right. Looks like there is a lot of room between the jaws and the top of the screw box. Dan
DKForge
Suboc the one on the right is clearly marked as an Indian Chief. It has 6" jaws, they are very clean, and they close in perfect alignment. It will be my #2 vise replacing another one I have. The anvil/vise combo will be added to the shop and the others will be going to Quad State this week.

Probably a good choice, I always hate when the box/screw gets in the way of the work, and having that taller jaw profile should help avoid that problem. I have a large Wilton offset vise that eliminates that problem, the jaws being well offset beyond the box/screw, but being a cast vise, I avoid hammering on it. ThomasPowers
Be careful with that anvil vise combo as it's almost certain to be made from cast iron and so "fragile" compared to a wrought iron post vise.
DKForge
Yep I have seen plenty of broken ones in the past to know it is cast. It will live the rest of its life in my shop more to provide ambiance then assistance in my work.
