windancer
Tired of setting my gloves on fire! I am far enough along on the one in my head to realize I don't want to reinvent the wheel. Thanks Dave
eric sprado
Dave: Eric here-using the heck out of that forge! I'm thinking of making an appropriate size one of Mark Amsbery's "Smooshomatics" to go under my fly press. Should work just as well under any sort of press. I think you can find it on YouTube by punching in Marks name.
John B
Plans for a C frame veining tool can be found in CoSIRA's Catalogue of designs on page 219 here http://www.hct.ac.uk/PDF/CraftPublications/WroughtIron/CATALOGUE%20OF%20DRAWINGS%20FOR%20WROUGHT%20IRONWORK_tcm2-18935.pdf
knots
Here is my version of the COSIRA Leaf Veiner. This tool works well for leaves made from sheet metal. Can also be used for plandishing and texturing sheet metal. Mine is fitted with a plate and used in my leg vice rather than in the hardy hole as fitted for the original COSIRA tool. Glenn
Veining can be done from a C frame, spring fuller, or many other devices. I am sure the IForgeIron Gallery with 18,000 images has ideas that can be used. A search of the forum will turn up several others. There is a development thread on the zipmax that may be of interest to you.

windancer
Eric- Glad you are getting some good from it... I started my research here on IFI by searching the forums for leaf veiners and didn't get any hits except for the hand chisel type. Thanks for the link and the PDF doc- both very useful! Saw Mark on youtube but not any pics of the tool- just the area where he is striking the leaves. Thanks again Dave
windancer
Well... my build is almost done. Took ideas from everywhere and then boiled them down to a final. Will get it finished and tested and then make a short vid of it working, and post it here in this thread. Dave
