Featured Replies

Hello, I the artist - the smith from Sankt - Petersburg. I create various drawings of a mosaic Damask steel. I participate in various conferences and seminars in the different countries of the world. It would be interesting to communicate with adherents at this forum.

Other variants of a pattern of a Damask steel. I do not use powder steels . All is typed from plates and slices of different steels.

Thanks for good words, it is glad that you liked my work.

Perfectly, I will place here my novelties.))

Demid, That is fantastic work! You must be very cold in Saint Petersburg, Russia now and wishing you were in St. Petersburg, Florida, USA on a sunny beach. Post some pictures of your shop too, OK.

Amazing work. Its the only way to describe it.

As for your location. Cheers from hot, sunny Sydney, very different to your location.

Demid, if you could describe hoe you make those fantastic patterns, we would all be in your debt! Absolutely amazing! The only thing I've seen that comes close is how the makers of the Damascus shotgun barrel makers made up their blanks for the barrels!
BEAR

Nice work. I like your pattern development, especially on the jelly roll

Hope to see more!

Thanks you, friends, for so warm reception, (that is especially important for the guy from cold Russian winter). The right you exaggerate value of my patterns. I know many people who can do similar things, and also many people who do better. The best teacher for each of us is persistence, persistence on work, ability to feel beauty of world around, its infinite variety.

Hello Demid, Welcome to the site!

I like you steel, If I did not have to work for a living I would spend all my time making mosaic patterns, they are such fun.

Look forward to seeing more of your work, do you have photos of some blades you have made? (I always think the steel looks better in this context!)

That is a 'brave' sized billet to weld up for a public demonstration! I would worry about getting the whole thing hot when its that size in someone elses forge !!!

What did you think of the 25kg anyang hammer? (it looks Like one of Mr Angele's in that colour :P )

Yes on demonstrations at first it was terrible, but has then got used. After uncountable set of quantity of weldings, hands work automatically.

That fish is really an interesting piece of work. Very nice. Your work must sell very well and be in great demand with collectors.

Demid, your work is beautiful. I am looking forward to seeing more. You may know lots of people that can do that. I do not know any. Heck, I can't even forge weld yet. I would LOVE to learn how to do that.
