Frosty Posted June 9, 2009 Share Posted June 9, 2009 Good question. I can think of a couple ways but #1 wouldn't be Cir. 1850's. You could form it from sheet with the slot daylighting and forge weld it closed on the blade. Be a pain and you'd have to be spot on to get it right.
