  1. TwistedWillow, that shower curtain is GLORIOUS!
  2. Yeah, I dunno about that - I don't know if the "doors" actually come off, so if not there's just an entry port just big enough to pass the crucible through, so most likely even a knife blank put into the port would fall to the floor and be very difficult to retrieve. Check out the Mr. Volcano site to see what I mean. But basically in terms of construction its just a forge turned on its end.
  3. Interestingly, Mr Volcano now makes a foundry using a hexagonal shape instead of pentagonal, but it's basically "tip a forge on end and add doors on the ends". Looks like it might be fun to try.
  4. Beautiful work as always alexandr. Finally got around to finishing up my steak fork. I took Frosty's advise and lengthened the handle a little bit to get a better place to grab for the twist. It's...different, as I was originally going to try for a variation on a smoothed out Rubik's twist. I'm not really happy with it, but it's actually comfortable in the hand and turns and picks up pork chops off the grill quite well.
  5. We have a few of these up here - the town of New Berlin is NewBURR-lin, and some local family names such as Campbell (CAMP-bell) and DuBois (Du-BOYCE).
  6. George, that's good advice, thanks! I wasn't sure at first, but the video I was following along with did it at the end for some reason so I figured maybe there was a good reason. Das, hope your neighbor will be ok.
  7. I decided to try out the handled top fuller I picked up last weekend and attempt to make something out of a rr spike I had laying around. Had to take a break, but maybe next weekend I can get the handle twisted and cleaned up.
  8. Stopped by the neighbor's barn sale today and picked up a pair of tongs, a old wrench for twists, and what I think is a fullering hammer. It's from the Atha Tool company. Not a bad score.
