there is nothing more permanent than a temporary fix
i find that a stump of 20in with a 100# anvil will still wiggle around and i must move it back after a few heats that I really start to move the metal, if im doing light work there is no major problem otherwise

one question... with all the different designs and levels of experience how will TW choose a winner, I say we all head down to visit and have a major gathering/ create a new blacksmithing event as well as to unveil next year's challenge (there is going to be one right?)

JB weld has worked well here, and it's always good to have some for other fix it jobs.

following this thread i have learned plenty. i am looking to make a new forge and saw the vaulted design discussed a few pages back wondering what the recommended height would be with a 3/4 frosty t-burner I am thinking maybe a 3" inside radius thus a 6" floor and 8" to 12" deep.

So, my family recently started another project... a woodworking shop. this is three days of progress next will come walls and a roof outer dimension 10'x24' inner will be 9'6"x 23'x8' at the low side other than original grass removal, a wacker packer, and a power trawl the project was done with old hand tools only all leveled with tape, transit, and shovel.

Our young boys are really into Lego gears right now, and this will be a great homeschool project too!
I love homeschooling you can turn everyday life projects as school or have losses and call it educational expenses (then it doesn't feel as bad when you destroy blade after blade)

yes i know some places here pasteurize their honey will others leave it raw. Raw honey is much better for one and helps the immune system. Here the cheapest supplier for honey is now at 4.50 CAD a lb (translate to roughly 600 ruble a liter) of raw honey with many between 5.00 and 6.00 CAD
My mother buys 2 20 liter buckets a year for baking, and canning as we react to white sugar

alexandre do you leave your honey raw or pasteurize it

i have had less than optimal performance (hot enough to forge with bit not to weld) over the last while i have noticed a decrease in max temp and after some investigation have discovered considerable slop in the joint between the flair fitting and the t what should i do to fix this or is it best to get a new T
(pic for reference)

night switch is what we call a simple high amperage on-off switch mounted on machines or vehicles that you turn off when you shut the machine off for the day thus preventing draws overnight from radios etc.
It followed me home

be excellent in a shop just walk to the toolbox pull out a rusty wrench and bite a piece out of it. Of course, this is all to be done in front of the new guy before asking for his ID10-T form and a pipe stretcher.
