I picked up a saw makers anvil today for 50$. I got it from a sawfiler who was moving shop and didn't have any use for a flat topped anvil. I weighed the anvil when I got home and it came out at 96.5 lbs.
I'm not sure what the make or age of the anvil is but if anyone recognizes it that would be great.
that is neat my great-grandfather and my grandfather where trained saw-filers and though he has some amnesia due to CO inhalation i think my grandfather can still do it, might be like riding a bike you learn it and it sticks

Sorry we are involved in trapping the feral cats and neutering them to decrease the number of cute newborns!
cats are meh for me and rabbits are ugly for the first few weeks we used to raise 50-70 a year for meat

Well, you folks living where it's inhumanly HOT all the time might but those of us living in God's country know it's warm when it's close to freezing. Isn't that right Alex?
70s is almost scorching temps here but I'm close to the ocean so temps are moderated by Cook Inlet. Summers inland regularly hits the 80s and above.
Frosty The Lucky.
season also changes what's warm now 40F+ is warm in the middle of the winter 5-10 F is warm in summer 40 may be considered cold, anything over 85F i consider lethal
also where you live in northern Canada at 32 were burning to death in the Texas their freezing to death at 32 lol

I’ve got a folding sharpener from DMT, it’s great. Folds up and opens like a balisong, with the diamond sharpening “stone” concealed within the handles. It seems they’ve started making them with pointy rods now! Not sure when that happened but it wasn’t available when I got mine.
I usually keep mine in my work truck for touching up tools on the job.
i EDC a course/fine one of these
haven't seen the rod type before
Aframe, nice knife

Perhaps you had better not explain to them that Alaska used to be part of Russia...
I was worrying about that lately and wondering if you had enough "local" orders to tide you over.
I'm worried the USA will remember that they used to kind of run British Columbia or that Britain controlled Canada... and USA jokes aside.
i to am praying for alexandre and the rest of his decent country men to be able to tide over in these tough times as only The elite want any of this to escalate more all the normal people i have talked to want this to end(i may also be praying for their leader but in a different way(no not for him to drop in his tracks))

I'll bet having a digit pulled off would be worse than being misted by a punch press.
my father (a heavy duty mechanic) lost 1.5 bones on his ring finger when his ring caught on a machine as he was jumped off. you will never see a ring on him now days

Learned yesterday evening to keep my digits well away from the spinning blade on my table saw. My initial thought (well the one immediately after “Do I still have a thumb?” was “jeez that blade is sharp! I didn’t even feel my thumb move!”
who has one thumb and is prohibited from the use of power tools? lol
jokes aside hope it heals fast

It's snowing here now. It hasn't snowed for TWO WHOLE DAYS!
The drought is finally over, thank goodness!
frosty we just got our second warm snap and now cooling off again after the fields have cleared a lot a of snow we have a tradition where every winter after Christmas one house puts a tree on the river and every one guesses when it falls through its changed hands 2 or 3 times as the house was sold and new people took over. only once in almost 50 years has it not happened due to the ice not having built up but usually 2 weeks after it falls through we have break up (when the log trucks are longer able to go on the bush roads due to the damage caused ) prior to this they go to nights as the road is less likely to be damaged by the heavy loads

we have finally cooled down to -20s at night -5C in day after 1.5-2 weeks of little freezing and now we have tons of ice every where
caught the water on the floor before it froze and cleared most of it out with a shopvac
working on a knife for a friend
also my belt grinder causes the material to skip on the plate if i use 2in belts (all my grits above 60) MVI_0351.MOV
and i finally got a bottle opener that turned out half decent
