  1. Mayby you should have put a wheel on it if it was so heavey.
  2. I'd be happy with it too. It looks good and is perfectly suited to it's space and use. I have a very long window with a bunch of cheap wire plant stands and may make a long one of these and re-purpose them all.
  3. It is just supposed to be my name. I just grabbed the first rune alphabet graphic that caught my eye. After the fact (as usual) I studied up on runes on wikipidea and realized how much there is to them.... Plenty of ways to use them uniquely. It comes off easily, converting it into a Viking Stabbing Weapon....Lol. Thanks. And I still have the other half to make another.... Awesome job freehand Tommy. I traced mine out. I just discovered sharpie metallic markers for dark surfaces like steel and iron and they work good for my eyes and shaky hand..... I was going to put a raven feathers on the sides but need more practice chiseling.
  4. Glenn already knew this, I'm sure, but we plant seeds in rows in planting flats to get them an early start indoors and the toothpicks just define where one variety of plant starts and one stops. It helps to keep track of them when transplanting them. Yay spring...
  5. That's what I get for going out on a limb.....
  6. Robert, I will message you a fix for that I shouldn't post here....
  7. I'll go out on a limb and say photo's 11, 12, 13 and 14 from the top are Yellin. Fireplace. Thank you for sharing.
  8. I think we had one small flurry here, but at least the power didn't go out. Nevertheless, I'm ready for spring.
  9. Heres my Viking bottle opener. It's two firsts for me, making an opener and carving letters. I tried to follow VaughnT tutorial. Obviously, I need practice. I used a fine tip sharpie in the bottom of the chisel marks, to guage how deep I was getting. It's made out of the end of a miners pick.
  10. I had a lemon once that shaved a few years off my life trying to find and fix all it's electronic gadgetry when they went bad. A friend of mine called electronic car trouble "the ghost in the machine".
  11. There's inspiration here. Lot's of logging history, some mining, narrow guage rr (I saw a ancient flatcar converted into some sort of mobile lumber saw), wildlife, etc.... and of course the people, I've met some "unique" ones. People sometimes inspire me. I stared at a pine cone for an hour trying to imagine something. Funny thing, when I go to the flea market, there are vendors selling them by the bag full. Who buys them? It's like selling sand in the desert. How much is a pound of snow cost in Alaska?
  12. I agree, it does look like a scarecrow with the corn in back! They are a favorite to make and I've done a few... mayby a few too many and started resembeling one, Lol.... Seriously though, thank you for your comment.
  13. Shoot, I could sleep on on the porch with a quilt. Or rile things up i Jerry's RV. You aren't the only one leaning on IFI these days.
  14. I am getting a lot of ideas for my shop built Hossfeld. Do you plan on pipe or tubing bending dies in the future.
  15. Nice projects everybody, I'm thinking twice about showing my attempt now. It has elements of mining, brewing, viking, burning armhair and lack of experience of ever having forged a bottle opener before.
  16. Thanks Rojo, fun to make, fun to look at. Anvil, thanks too for the compliment. Old means better in a lot of ways, but my knees don't buy it. John, actually after. It might have got scorched off somehow....
  17. Absolutely, and you know how tooling and accessories tend to accumulate and get out of hand, you may fill that whole rollaway before you know it. Or, it could be a "Hossfeld Universal Bender #2/Fly Press Accessory and Tooling Cart"
  18. Looks like a potential "Hossfeld Universal Bender #2 Accessory and Tooling Cart" to me.
  19. I think that a tour guided by you would be very interesting indeed. Hopefully someday.... Thanks for the book recomendations. Speaking of railroads....
  20. Hi there. Tool cabinet, chest and locker customization and organization is fun! Hmm.... now what goes there.....? Nice find.
