  1. I admire your patience... Or the high pressure gaskets you were installed with. Whichever the case may be...
  2. Sorry, too late to edit. I whispered his name and he turned around. Lol, that didn't sound quite right. I don't go round whispering behind peoples backs....
  3. If he is interested in forging and such things, I sure hope he does not stumble onto this conversation! I think a great gift would be to point him here at the right time....
  4. Interesting and thanks. There is a fellow at my new job that wears them working around industrial vibrators that shake plate steel. The sound is horrendous and you can feel it in your body. I have wondered about these things for a while and today I asked him about them and he said he's worn them for quite a while with no issues. I tested him by whispering something behind his back....
  5. Pine trees... I have not been to the coast or mountains yet, but it's pretty much trees in these parts. I wonder, have there been long term hearing loss studies on these electronic ear plugs? I ask because I just use plain foam ones and am considering them. Search engine just confused things for me.
  6. Entertainment is one thing, but it's become a lifestyle with me..... Oh well, alls well that ends well, nevermind how you got there. There are plums, peaches and some kind of nut tree.
  7. We don't close for a while yet. Sorry for the confusion. It has everything she wants and needs. According to her, the first thing unpacked is the canning supplies, before the season is over. She says "Hi Jerry!" Thanks for asking. It's been a long summer. "Fleece and Release" sounds reasonable enough....
  8. My old neighbors hogs used to wander over and root up the sod on my place. It sparked a long lasting feud. I don't know what they were looking for under there, maybe they eat roots or bugs. Or were trying to build a hog wallow. Did a lot of damage. I finally strung an electric fence around the whole place and that stopped it. We continued on feuding though....
  9. Yes! Sort of.... House yes, shop no. So I will have to build one from scratch, plenty of land. But I'm getting traction, there is a tiny shed to putter around in and storage for all my goods for the time being. There is also some road frontage so maybe I will build a combination forge/cafe/gift/curiosity shop and tourist trap.
  10. I picked up a bunch of rusty junk along the the railroad tracks today. Not even worthy of a photo but I'm starting a new scrap art resource pile after leaving mine behind whilst moving. It's a rail siding at my new work place so I have permission. No worries other than getting run over by the rr because I found out they don't watch the end car like they should. Silent but lethal.
  11. And cunning as well. I may just try a quokka sculpture someday. I like happy animals. Might even try a porcupine, pokey needles and all.
  12. I will go out on a limb and say the third photo/sculpture/creature from the bottom is the one giving your husband the eyeball... I would like to hear that crow caaawww..... Pretty cool. Add some red or green led "eyeballs" to that motion sensor circuit.......
  13. Nice work, you are very talented. Love the bird...
  14. I hope he has fun! Not long ago my brother was presented a Quilt of Valor. It's great to see people care. I was on the USS Iwo Jima once but the food was so bad I went back to my own ship!
  15. Hi Ausfire. It's good to see your avatar and hear you are on the mend. I suffered heat exhaustion and dehydration once and it sent me to the ER. I didn't stop peeing but I did stop sweating among other things. It was a close call and no fun... Thanks for the prostate information.
  16. What did she get?
  17. They are going after water, shade can't be far behind.
  18. Most of the things I create are inspired by nature. Bugs, reptiles, birds, mammals and plants. I am thankful for most of it. Maybe not tornados, ticks and yellow jackets so much. I like to watch the sunrise. Around here it's kind of hard with all these pine trees in the way though. Pine trees are falling lower on the list fast....
  19. Neither are we! OUCH is right. Take care and get well....
  20. Could you just weld, or JB weld a piece of round stock on the South Pole that fits into a piece of pipe on a base to make it rotate? Might have to make a base, though. It never ends... I like your globe very much!
  21. That IS a good one. I'll be passing it along for sure!
  22. "blowing the soot out" Back in Nebraska we called that "blowin the cobs out". Preventive maintenance....
  23. How long have been drinking that rain water? How do you collect it? I had a contaminated well once and it took a long time to figure out something was wrong. It can creep up on you.
